June is not only the start of the hurricane season but it is also the start of the graduation season. From preschool to tertiary, the time has come to say goodbyes to what was and hello to new beginnings.
My firstborn daughter is graduating from high school and let me tell you, I am so not ready for this big change.
It’s a time of transition that we have to embrace, trusting that we have done all that we could to prepare them for the journey ahead. Our children will be closing one chapter and stepping into another, filled with hopes and dreams. Covid-19 has taken a lot, yet I see the resilience in our children, I know they are going to make it.
This week I want to share a short message to you my reader and to all those who will be graduating in the next few weeks. Feel free to share this with them.
“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” Proverbs 18:15
Knowledge. Empowers. You.
- Knowledge is a powerful key that has been given to you. However, it has no value unless you put it into practice. A door will remain locked unless you use the key to unlock it. What are you doing with the knowledge you gained over the years? How has it shaped your life, your faith, your decisions?
- Empower – Knowledge empowers. It helps you to become stronger and more confident as you step out into what God has called you to do. God’s Word empowers and transforms us. We must remain empowered. Don’t allow others to silence your voice, or strip you of your confidence or power. You can’t let the lies of the enemy silence the truth. When you become empowered you are able to share and help others discover their value, their gifts, and abilities so that they too can become empowered.
- You are the change you seek. You may be thinking that you are too young, or too old, too tired, too busy or that you can’t do much. So you join the others on the sidelines waiting for someone to come and do what you were created to do. Think about what is in your hand. Look at Moses and his staff. A simple rod that turned into a serpent, struck a rock and caused water to gush out, parted the red sea. Who knew?!
You have what it takes. You are the change you seek.
Embrace who you are, Ephesians 2:10 is a great reminder of that, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
It’s time to use the key you’ve been given to bring about the change you seek. It’s time to unlock the door and step out of the box you’ve been in, the world is in need of what you have to offer.
“Do good to your servant according to your word, Lord. Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands.”
Psalm 119:65-66 (NIV)
